Theme Park Concierges is ready with towel rentals, rash guards and SPF 15 to enjoy a dip at one of the two themed water parks at Walt Disney World Resort, especially after touring the park sights with its VIP Concierge Guests.
A legendary tropical tempest is always brewing at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. When a real 50 foot (15 m) geyser, sounds by whistling ‘bells of the watch’ from the marooned Miss Tilly the Shrimp Boat, ship-wrecked atop Mount Mayday, the main pool erupts into a tsunami-strength tidal wave, rocking waves that reach six feet high every 90 seconds. Swimmers can body surf onto ‘shore’ every half-hour when the bells ring.
With sandy beaches and a palm grove surrounding one of the world’s largest wave pools, Theme Park Concierges’ Guests can swim and/or sun or just relax with a tropical cocktail. Children can safely play at Ketchakiddee Creek with its slides and fountains and sandy beach.
For older Guests, there are thrilling body slides at Humunga Kowabunga, Storm Slides and Mayday Falls; family raft rides at Gang Plank Falls and walkways through Forgotten Grotto and Overlook Pass. Whether Guests take a lazy float in the Castaway Creek 2100 foot-long (640 m) river or plunge into rapids and waterfalls from a variety of thrill-inducing water slides, the Crush ‘n’ Gusher water coaster is sure to be the highlight of this park, with its hairpin curves and rushing drop-offs in water.
The Shark Reef snorkel trip hosted by NAUI is a must-see for VIP Concierge Guests with its real saltwater and unheated reef that is home to (harmless—we promise!) bonnethead and leopard sharks, tropical fish and stingrays.
Surfing is also possible by appointment, and the surf theme is carried over in the park with beachy tunes and memorabilia that is sure to please Guests of all ages and swimming abilities. Catch a wave, sip a tropical cocktail and grab a Funnel Cake or a hotdog at Surf Doggies, to the tune of familiar 1960s surfing music.
